Do you remember if there was any cell service in the spots you camped? I plan on doing a solo Lake Powell trip in the fall. I should probably invest in something like the In Reach for safety.

Fantastic report! I had to cancel my trip there. the 1-2 combo of COVID times and cancer has really put a hold on my kayaking adventures so this is fun to see. Did you have time to kayak Horseshoe bend? There are backhaul services that will take you and your kayaks up river.
Now that you've had your Pakayak's a while and on longer adventures how suitable do you think they are for overnight trips? How do you think they would have done if you had been able to use them on your Lake Powell or Catalina trips? I currently have a Delta 14 that is a fantastic overnight boat but I'm thinking of replacing it with a Pakayak since I hate having to pay for a storage area every month.
I'm also in San Diego area and Lake Havasu is great for kayak camping in the winter with lots of boat-in campsites. I've camped there several times Nov-Feb and I was the only one camping each time, but it's cold at night. A great place for quick unplanned getaway in the winter.
Also highly recommend kayaking the sea caves on Santa Cruz island, it's fantastic. There used to be a book on kayaking the Channel Islands, well worth picking up if it's still in print.
