  • MikeJones thanks!!! Weather looks awesome today, so I am expecting tonight will be wonderful. Excited to check it out later!

    • Hi MikeJones! I came across your Reddit post on you recommending Prewitt Ridge for stargazing in the Big Sur area. I am highly considering visiting this place for stargazing and have a few questions for you.

Let me give you some background:
-Trip date: early December. Yea, I understand that chance of seeing stars are probably lower in this season, but crossing-fingers.
-Actually not going to camp overnight. Was planning to visit the campsites when the night fall and spend couple hours enjoy the scenery then leave.

      So!
Do you think it's safe coming up to/leaving the campsite during night time with a sedan? (most likely not 4-wheel drive)
Generally, what time would be the best time to stargaze? Do we have to wait into the AM to see some star action?
      Any tips for first-time stargazers?

      Thanks in advance!
