About Ten Digit Grid

Stories, tools, and honest field notes for people who would rather take the long way.

Made for the long way

Ten Digit Grid is an independent field journal about the places we go, the equipment we rely on, and the small tools we build to make an adventure easier. It is part trip log, part practical reference, and part workshop notebook.

The name comes from the Military Grid Reference System. A ten-digit grid reference identifies a location with one-meter precision. That mix of exploration and useful detail is the standard we aim for in every story.

What you will find here

We publish trail guides, trip reports, road-trip notes, field-tested gear reviews, outdoor photography, and behind-the-scenes stories about the apps we develop. The details matter: distance, elevation, access, conditions, coordinates, and the things we wish someone had told us before leaving home.

The map gets us there. The story is what we bring home.

Independent by design

Ten Digit Grid is written and built by people who genuinely use the trails, equipment, and apps covered here. Recommendations are based on real experience, and sponsored relationships will always be clearly identified.

We are based in San Diego, California, but the grid keeps expanding.
